guiding light

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Here is a space where untangling the mess is welcome, growth is possible, and being human is enough.

Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or simply curious about who you are and what comes next, therapy offers a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect - with yourself and with what matters most.

This isn’t about fixing you - because you’re not broken. It’s about understanding your story, gently exploring the patterns that no longer serve you, and making space for something new.

You're not alone in this. Let’s start where you are.

About Sarahanne

Hello! I'm Sarahanne, and I am in Advanced TA training as a Transactional Analyst in Psychotherapy. I am currently registered as a Trainee member with both UKCP and UKATA.

My background is in psychology, and I bring over 20 years of experience in caring professions across various settings. I have worked extensively with autistic individuals of all ages, those navigating mental health challenges, and those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

I am passionate about creating an inclusive, affirming space for all and especially keen to support individuals from the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities. I understand the unique challenges that can arise and aim to provide a safe, respectful, and understanding environment where every person feels heard and valued.

By nature, I am warm, empathetic, honest, and compassionate, with a deep commitment to helping others. Inspired by my own growth and healing, I am retraining as a psychotherapist in Transactional Analysis—an approach that has profoundly transformed my life. Now, I hope to help others navigate their own paths, deepen self-understanding, and create meaningful change.

About Counselling & Psychotherapy

Counselling and psychotherapy offer a safe and supportive space to explore life's challenges, uncover deeper truths, and find personal growth. Whether you’re navigating difficult emotions, seeking clarity, or looking to break free from recurring patterns, these services are designed to help you on your journey to healing and self-discovery.

The model of psychotherapy I use is called Transactional Analysis, or TA for short. It’s a practical and empowering approach that helps us understand how we relate to ourselves and other people. TA is based on the idea that we all have three parts within us, called ego states: The Parent, which holds the rules, beliefs, and voices we've picked up from others. The Adult, which helps us think clearly, make decisions, and respond to what’s happening right now.
The Child, which holds our feelings, creativity, needs, and early experiences. Sometimes, we react to situations from an old script or pattern - maybe sounding like a strict Parent, a hurt Child, or switching between them without realising. TA helps us notice these patterns, understand where they come from, and choose more balanced and authentic ways to respond. It’s a powerful way to create healthier relationships and foster personal change.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE PROCESS

WHAT TO EXPECT

Psychotherapy is a process that requires both time and commitment from both you and me. It may involve confronting difficult emotions which at times can be uncomfortable and painful. My aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where together we can explore these feelings and make sense of them, as I walk alongside you on your journey. There is no magic wand to take away the hurts of the past, but together we can explore them and create the changes you want to see for the happier, healthier version of you!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE 30 MIN ASSESSMENT?

This will be an informal conversation where we will get to know each other a little and see if we are a good match for working together. The therapeutic relationship is important, and so it is vital that you feel comfortable with the therapist you choose to work with. It is ok to feel that some therapists may not be the right fit for you, and this is your opportunity to check out whether or not you think we would work well together.

During the assessment I will also aim to understand what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to achieve. We will keep things light, and after this initial assessment we can decide if we will work together.

what will happen in the first 1 hour session?

If we decide after the initial assessment that we will work together, the first session will involve getting to know more about you. This will include an overall view of your life as it is just now, a bit about your history,  as well as gaining a deeper understanding of what has brought you to therapy and how you envision yourself by the end of our work together. During this first session we will also go over our contract for working together and I will explain the process and admin side of things in a little more detail. Our first session will not involve much therapy, but rather will be creating the boundaries, expectations and getting a clear view of how our time together will be spent.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Everyone is different, and the number of sessions can vary greatly for each individual. Therapy can range from just 6 sessions to many years. For this reason, I offer both open-ended therapy and short-term courses, ensuring you are always in control of what is right for you, giving control over when you want it to end.
